Melissa Petrich

Overview

Melissa works with partners throughout Washington on restoring and improving water quality throughout Washington’s waters. Based out of Tacoma, WA, she currently focuses on pollution reduction best management practices, harmful algal blooms, water quality monitoring, and water quality education and outreach. Melissa has been working in aquatic science in the Salish Sea region since 2021 and holds a BA in Environmental Studies and an MS in Land Resources and Environmental Science. Originally from Olalla, WA, she is honored to work with the community she grew up in to tackle challenging water quality issues and improve community health. In her free time, you can find her playing outside in the mountains and on the water with her family and friends.
