Ocean literacy doesn’t come from a single lesson—it is a lifelong endeavor. Restoring and protecting our coastal ecosystems for the long term depends on a community that understands, values, and actively cares for the marine environment. WSG supports lifelong learning in ocean and coastal topics through a variety of programs, including informal education at events, hands-on workshops, and volunteer programs. These education experiences can spark curiosity and empower individuals to take meaningful action to steward the coastal resources in their own communities.
What we do
- Informal marine education through participation in a variety of interactive fairs and festivals that reach tens of thousands of people each year
- Beach walks through the Kitsap Water Stewardship program
