Jane Wybenga

Overview

Jane grew up in Portland but has lived in Washington for the past six years. She attended Gonzaga University where she majored in Environmental Studies and Spanish. In Spokane she interned with The Lands Council, performing outreach and education to the greater Spokane community on the health risks of Spokane River toxins. After a semester taking Oceanography in Madrid, she found an interest in marine environmental work. Upon graduating she moved to Seattle and developed a range of professional experience relating to the field of sustainability and environmental policy. She helped a local winery secure their B Corp certification, campaigned with Idaho Conservation League to advocate for dam removal and salmon restoration in the Snake River, and educated homeowners and builders about Washington’s leading residential green building certification program. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree from the UW School of Marine and Environmental Affairs and looks forward to developing her skills in environmental policy work.
