WSG Seaweed Office Hours

WSG holds monthly, virtual seaweed office hours for all your seaweed needs. No need to make an appointment – just drop in!

Seaweed office hours are the last Thursday of every month. See our Event Calendar for more details and the Zoom link.

Washington Floating Kelp Indicator

Part of the Puget Sound Vital Signs developed by Puget Sound Partnership, the Floating Kelp Bed Area Indicator tracks the area of kelp beds on the water surface at sites across Washington to help managers assess long-term trends. Regular reports on each indicator are made possible by collaborations among diverse groups of organizations and individuals, including state agencies, Tribes, community scientists and NGOs.

Washington Seaweed Knowledge Symposium

The Washington Seaweed Collaborative (2020-2026) hosted the Washington Seaweed Knowledge Symposium in 2022. The Symposium brought together constituents from across Washington and beyond with the aim of moving the community towards a shared understanding of what is known and what is not known about seaweed farming as well as what it could look like in Washington state. The Washington Seaweed Collaborative newsletter, Kelp Lines, continues to be published by our partner Ocean Strategies.
