Happy National Seafood Month!

Happy National Seafood Month!

From salmon fishermen on Puget Sound to oyster farmers in Grays Harbor, Washingtonians’ lives are intertwined with Washington’s living marine resources.  The seafood industry — including harvesting, processing, marketing, and consumption — is a vital part of the Pacific Northwest’s culture and commerce.

Through accessible education and outreach, WSG helps consumers confidently buy, store and prepare seafood that is safe, sustainable and locally caught or cultivated. WSG also equips seafood harvesters and businesses with training in direct marketing, product handling and business practices that expand their reach and strengthen the regional seafood supply chain.
